Sporting KC advance to the Western Conference Finals after a thrilling 4-2 win over Real Salt Lake. Andy and Charles breakdown the win. They discuss how SKC were unable to close out a match where they were in control (6:08). Rubio returned to the starting XI at the expense of Shelton (18:20).

The first legs of the conference semifinals are finished. Andy and Charles break down all of the action from Sunday. They kick things off with Portland's 2-1 win over Seattle (2:17), then Columbus' 1-0 win versus New York Red Bulls, and finally Atlanta beating NYCFC 1-0 (20:35).

Sporting KC and Real Salt Lake drew 1-1 in the opening leg of the conference semifinals. Which team was happier with the draw (3:07)? Croizet filled in for Sinovic at left back (8:27). Shelton started, but Rubio scored (15:12). Roger was largely invisible, but does that mean he played poorly (23:52)?

MLS segment up first this week. Chicago did SKC a huge favor by beating LAFC (3:50). New York Red Bull beat Atlanta United in a potential eastern conference preview (11:19). DC United scored five goals in the most DC United way ever against Montreal (19:20).

We are live after Sporting KC's 1-1 draw with Real Salt Lake Saturday Sept. 30. Obviously there were some big referee decisions so Andy and Charles started discussing the crucial calls. Kriztin Nemeth was largely ineffective again. The crew contrasts his performance with the energy Rubio brought when he came on.

Instead of focusing on the week that was in MLS, Andy and Charles look back on the complicated career of Clint Dempsey as the co-leader in USMNT goals announced his retirement this week. Opinions of him have changed since his return to MLS, but there are plenty of reasons to look back fondly.
